9月9日（水）まで京都 蔦屋書店にてBIENによる初作品集『Debris 4』の刊行を記念した展覧会を開催いたしております。

本展では、風景を構成する断片、制作過程で撮りためたスナップ、作品集に収められた記録といった要素を手がかりに、BIENの現在の表現を紹介します。会場では、BIENがロンドン滞在中に撮影した公園の夕景をもとに制作した新作を展示します。一枚の風景写真を複数の変形パネルへと分解し、空間全体に展開することで、鑑賞者は会場を歩きながら断片をつなぎ合わせ、ひとつの風景を再構成していきます。あわせて、制作のきっかけとなる日々のスナップ動画をもとに構成した映像作品も発表します。

An exhibition featuring the publication of BIEN’s first artist book, Debris 4, is on view at Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore until Wednesday, September 9.

The exhibition introduces BIEN’s current practice through the fragments that compose a landscape, snapshots accumulated during the creative process, and the documents gathered in the photobook itself. On view is a new work made from a photograph of a park at dusk, taken by BIEN during a stay in London. A single landscape photograph is broken down into multiple irregularly shaped panels and distributed across the space — inviting viewers to move through the venue, connect the fragments, and reconstruct the landscape for themselves. A video work composed of daily snapshot footage, which served as the starting point for the new work, is also presented.
