Liste Art Fair Basel 2025にて、東京を拠点に活動するアーティスト、鈴木ヒラクのソロプレゼンテーションを発表いたします。
鈴木のインターメディア的なアプローチは、絶えず変化する環境の中から記号の断片を掘り起こし、それらを空間と時間の中でチューブ状の回路として再構成することに基づいています。この手法を鈴木は「オルタナティブ・アーケオロジー（もうひとつの考古学）」と呼んでおり、洞窟壁画、楽譜、都市交通、植物、鉱物、宇宙現象などから現れる様々な形や線を記録し、再構築することで、ドローイングの領域を拡張し続けています。

PARCEL is pleased to announce its participation for Liste Art Fair Basel 2025, presenting a solo presentation of Tokyo-based artist Hiraku Suzuki.
Suzuki’s intermedia approach is informed by excavating fragments of signs from our ever-changing environment and rearranging them to generate tube-like circuitry in space and time. From this method which Suzuki refers to as “alternative archaeology,” he continues to expand the field of drawing by documenting and reconstructing forms and lines that emerge from cave murals, music notations, urban traffic, plants, minerals, and cosmic phenomena.

鈴木ヒラク | Suzuki Hiraku
In 2011, Hiraku Suzuki completed a residency at Chelsea College of Art, London, and lived and worked in the US in 2011–12 with a grant from the Asian Cultural Council, and in Germany in 2012–13 with a grant from the Pola Art Foundation. Solo exhibitions include “Excavation Today” at The Museum of Modern Art, Gunma (2023), and he has shown in group exhibitions at a long list of prestigious museums throughout Japan and internationally including Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (2019-2020); MOCO Panacée, France (2019); Yinchuan Museum of Contemporary Art, China (2016); Wroclaw Architectural Museum, Poland (2015); Kunstraum Düsseldorf, Germany (2015); Maison de la culture du Japon a Paris, France (2015); 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, Japan (2012) and Mori Art Museum, Tokyo (2010).
