5月13日（水）より17日（日）まで、代官山にて開催されるアートフェスティバル「DEFOAMAT」にSIDE COREが参加しております。

今回SIDE COREは、代官山T-SITE（蔦屋書店3号館2F SHARE LOUNGE）にて、代官山でかつて酒屋を営んでいた故・藤野次郎さんの収集物を紹介する展示を行います。また、藤野さんの自宅での作品鑑賞ツアーも開催されます（要予約）。

藤野さんは代官山で生まれ育ち、近所のマンション建設現場で工事員たちが弥生土器を砕いている場面を目撃したことをきっかけに、酒と交換する形で土器を収集しました。そのコレクションはやがて考古学者の評価を受け、渋谷区の文化財指定へとつながっていきました。しかし藤野さんが収集していたのは土器だけではありません。取り壊される洋館の家具、街に貼られたポスター、近隣のアーティストの作品——街のなかにあるさまざまなものを日常的に集め続けた、その積み重ねが街の記憶そのものとなっていきました。展示ではこれらのコレクションに加え、シベリアでの強制労働を経験した藤野さんが、そこで亡くなった友人たちを追悼するために彫刻家・杉山惣二へ依頼して制作したパブリックアート《平和の祈り》も紹介されます。

SIDE CORE is participating in the art festival “DEFOAMAT,” held at Daikanyama from Wednesday, May 13th to Sunday, May 17th.

For this edition, SIDE CORE presents an exhibition at Daikanyama T-SITE (Tsutaya Books Building 3, 2F SHARE LOUNGE) featuring the collection of the late Jiro Fujino, who ran a liquor store in Daikanyama for much of his life. A guided tour of artworks at Fujino’s home will also be held as a ticketed event (reservation required).

Born and raised in Daikanyama, Fujino began collecting Yayoi-period pottery after witnessing construction workers smashing shards at a nearby building site — exchanging sake for the fragments before they were destroyed. His collection was later assessed by archaeologist Kiyoyuki Higuchi and eventually led to the designation of cultural assets in Shibuya Ward. But Fujino’s collecting extended far beyond pottery: furniture salvaged from demolished Western-style houses, posters peeled from the streets, works by artists living nearby — an accumulation that came to embody the memory of the neighborhood itself. The exhibition also introduces Prayer for Peace, a public sculpture Fujino commissioned from sculptor Soji Sugiyama to commemorate friends who died during his experience of forced labor in Siberia after World War II. The work still stands quietly in front of his home today.
