BIOGRAPHY

Design Miami/Baselで審査員特別賞(2009年)、韓国政府文化部のArtist of the Year(2011年)、Yaol/韓国文化遺産協会のYoung Craftsman of the Year(2013年)など受賞多数。

After studying metal crafts and design at Hongik University, he has been based in Seoul, South Korea. Influenced by his grandfather, who was a farmer and created various everyday items from materials around him, he has found joy in creating new things from familiar materials since childhood. Drawing from these experiences, he continues to create daily, giving new meaning and function to ordinary objects. Recently, his work has focused on discovering moments when materials come together with other materials as a theme, presenting new pieces one after another.
He has received numerous awards, including the Jury Special Prize at Design Miami/Basel (2009), Artist of the Year from the Korean Ministry of Culture (2011), and Young Craftsman of the Year from the Yaol/Korean Cultural Heritage Association (2013).
