9月19日（土）より台北当代芸術館にて開催されるグループ展「美術館之後 The Museum After」にSIDE COREが参加いたします。

今年で開館25周年を迎える台北当代芸術館は、3年間にわたる大規模な改修プロジェクトに着手します。

「The Museum After」というテーマにおいて、タイトルに含まれる「after」という言葉は時間の移行を象徴すると同時に、空間的な「behind（裏側）」という意も含んでいます。本展では、普段は展示室の壁の裏側に置かれてきた「労働」「空間」、そして「運営システム」に光を当てます。まずアート従事者の労働体験を出発点として、多様な責任とマルチタスクをこなす美術館スタッフの労働への傾注や自己アイデンティティの捉え方、そしてアーティストが様々な職業的役割を行き来しながら、いかにして理想と生活を維持しているかを考察します。続いて、空間の境界や設備の再点検・再知覚・再利用の試み、さらに展示メカニズムや評価制度への批判的眼差しを通して、それらの条件がいかに組み合わさってアートの呈示方法や「見方」を構築しているかを明らかにしていきます。日常では意識されにくいこれらの構造や導線こそが、人々の美術館体験を密やかに形作っているのです。アート、制度、そして観客の間の関係性を構築してきたこうした運営基盤を振り返るだけでなく、本展は都市や公共空間へと視座を広げ、美術館が果たしうる新たな役割や機能を再想像します。

SIDE CORE is participating in the group exhibition “The Museum After”, opening on September 19 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei (MoCA TAIPEI).

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei (MoCA TAIPEI) is launching a three-year renovation project.

Under the theme The Museum After, the word “after” in the title signals a temporal transition while also responding to the spatial connotation of “behind,” focusing attention on the labor, spaces, and operational systems that have traditionally operated behind the gallery walls. Beginning with the labor experiences of art practitioners, the exhibition explores the labor investment and identity perceptions of museum workers as they manage diverse responsibilities and multiple tasks, as well as how artists sustain their ideals and lives as they shift among various professional roles. Subsequently, by re-viewing, re-perceiving, and re-utilizing spatial boundaries and facility objects—along with a critical look at display mechanisms and assessment systems—the exhibition reveals how these conditions collectively shape the presentation of art and ways of seeing it. These often unnoticed structures and guidance subtly constitute the public’s museum experience. In addition to looking back at this operational framework that structures the relationships among art, institutions, and audiences, the exhibition broadens its perspective to include the city and public spaces, thereby reimagining the roles and functions a museum could embody.
