9月6日（日）までNONLECTURE books/artsにて写真家・西野壮平による新刊写真集『Assembled 手の記憶』の刊行を記念した展覧会を開催いたしております。
会場では、写真集収録作品を中心に、マンダラを思わせるコラージュ作品、シルクスクリーンによるアートポスター、オブジェ作品を展示。多彩なメディウムを通して、『Assembled 手の記憶』の世界を立体的に紹介します。
“ハバナ、サンフランシスコ、アムステルダム、イスタンブール、香港、 エルサレム、デリー、東京、ロンドン、ベルリン、リオデジャネイロ ──24 の都市の写真と向き合うことは、それらの街を、記憶の中でもう一度旅をする感覚であった。

An exhibition celebrating the publication of photographer Sohei Nishino’s new photobook “Assembled: Memories of the Hand” is on view until Sunday, September 6th at NONLECTURE books/arts.
The exhibition presents a selection of works from the photobook alongside collage works evoking the form of a mandala, silkscreen art posters, and object works, offering a three-dimensional introduction to the world of “Assembled: Memories of the Hand” across a diverse range of media.
“Havana, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Istanbul, Hong Kong, Jerusalem, Delhi, Tokyo, London, Berlin, Rio de Janeiro. To engage with photographs from 24 cities was to travel through them once more, in memory — to walk. The people encountered along the way, the landscapes that passed by, the food that could only be tasted in that place, the sounds, the air taken in. There is no hierarchy among these gathered memories. All are equal, and it is the accumulation of movement and intersection that has made me who I am today.”

Sohei Nishino｜西野壮平
1982 年、兵庫⽣まれ。2004 年、⼤阪芸術⼤学写真学科を卒業。在学中から記憶をテーマに、都市のアイコンの集積として表現された「Diorama Map」シリーズの制作を始める。以降、⼀貫して続けられている同シリーズは、すベて⾃らの⾜ で都市を歩き、モノクロフィルムで撮影された膨⼤な数の写真を⼀枚⼀枚⼿作業でコラージュするという ⼿法で制作され、世界中の様々な都市を舞台に制作されている。近年は都市から自然を軸へとスケールを拡大し移動や旅をしながら制作活動を行なっている。 2005 年にキャノン写真新世紀にて優秀賞（南條史⽣／現森美術館館⻑）に選出されて以来、国内外での個展や東京都写真美術館やロンドンのSaatchi Galleryをはじめとする様々なグループ展、ニューヨークのICP でのトリエンナーレ等のフェスティバルにて作品、サンフランシスコ近代美術館での展示も注⽬を集めた。2013年度⽇本写真協会賞、新⼈賞受賞。オランダの写真雑誌『Foam Magazine』が選ぶFoam Talent Call 2013 の写真家の⼀⼈として選出される。
Sohei Nishino (b. 1982, Hyogo, Japan) graduated from the Department of Photography at Osaka University of Arts in 2004. While still a student, he began the Diorama Map series, which explores memory through accumulations of urban imagery. In recent years, Nishino has expanded the scale of his practice from the urban environment toward nature, working while traveling and in motion. Since receiving the Excellence Award at Canon New Cosmos of Photography in 2005 (selected by Fumio Nanjo, current Director of the Mori Art Museum), he has presented solo exhibitions in Japan and internationally, and participated in numerous group exhibitions, including those at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum and the Saatchi Gallery in London, as well as festivals such as the triennial at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York. His work has also drawn attention through exhibitions at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. In 2013, he received the Newcomer Award from the Photographic Society of Japan and was selected as a Foam Talent in Foam Talent Call 2013 by Foam Magazine.
