6月6日（土）から9月7日（日）まで、アメリカ・ニューヨーク州メディナにて開催される「Medina Triennial 2026」にSIDE COREが参加いたします。国内外から39組のアーティストやコレクティブが参加する本トリエンナーレは、地域に根ざした現代美術の芸術祭として、町全体を会場に展開されます。
SIDE COREは、メディナ市内に位置するSacred Heart Churchにて作品を発表いたします。20世紀初頭にバッファロー教区によって建設された同教会は、かつてメディナのポーランド系移民コミュニティを支えた歴史的建造物であり、その簡素な建築空間の中にインスタレーション作品が展示されます。

SIDE CORE is participating in the Medina Triennial 2026, held in Medina, New York, USA from Saturday, June 6 to Sunday, September 7. Bringing together 39 artists and collectives from across the globe, this inaugural triennial unfolds as a town-wide exhibition rooted in local context and free and open to all.
SIDE CORE will present work at Sacred Heart Church, located in the heart of Medina. Built in the early twentieth century by the Diocese of Buffalo, the church was established to serve the city’s Polish immigrant community and stands as a testament to the cultural histories that shaped Medina’s identity. The building’s pared-back architecture will host several Triennial installations, including a presentation by SIDE CORE.

SIDE CORE is an artist collective based in Tokyo. Active since 2012, the collective comprises Sakie Takasu, Tohru Matsushita, and Taishi Nishihiro, with Kazunori Harimoto participating as a video director. SIDE CORE focuses on unraveling rules in public spaces, facilitating shifts in thinking, intervening in overlooked spaces, and expanding expression and action through the lens of street culture. Their activities, both indoors and outdoors, center on the theme of “expanding expression in urban spaces.”
Recent exhibitions include “Living road, Living space” (2025, 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa), “Plastic Utopia: Our New Ecosystem” (2025, Hirosaki MOCA, Aomori), “Concrete Planet” (2024, Watari-um Museum, Tokyo), “Centennial Art Festival” (2024, Chiba, Kisarazu / Sanmu), the 8th Yokohama Triennale “Wild Plants: Living Here and Now” (2024, Yokohama), “Yatsugatake Art & Ecology 2023” at the Yamanashi International Arts Festival (2023, Yamanashi), “BAYSIDE STAND” (2023, BLOCK HOUSE, Tokyo), “Oku-Noto Triennale 2023” (2023, Suzu, Ishikawa), “rode work ver. under city” (CCBT Art Incubation Program) (2023, vacant lot beside Meguro Observation Well), “Roppongi Crossing 2022: Come & Go!” (2022, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo), “Reborn-Art Festival” (2022, 2019, 2017, Ishinomaki, Miyagi), “Water Ripple Exhibition 2021” (2021, Watari-Um Museum, Tokyo), and “Out of Blueprints by Serpentine Galleries” (2020, NOWNESS, London), among many others.
2012年より活動を開始、東京都を拠点に活動。メンバーは高須咲恵、松下徹、西広太志。映像ディレクターは播本和宜。個人がいかに都市や公共空間のなかでメッセージを発するかという問いのもと、ストリートカルチャーの思想や歴史などを参照し制作する。ときに他ジャンルの表現者を交えたプロジェクトとして、 都市の死角や隙間となる場所で多彩な作品を展開。
